Something Bright

Yesterday l went shopping and bought these gorgeous papers from Bo Bunny.
I must admit l do like BRIGHT colours. This photo deserved something colourful as these girls were celebrating a birthday, which is always a fun thing to do!

These papers are from the Ambrosia collection and l cut out lots of flowers and other elements printed on the papers. I used 2 sizes of foam tape to pop up the flowers. I added Gold Pearl Pen to the yellow flowers and yellow butterflies.
I masked some of the background and hand stitched the printed swirls at the top and right hand side of the background paper. I added a some small Prima flowers to which l added some centres using micro beads and glitter sparkles.
Here are some close ups

Thanks for looking

Smile

This is my layout for the word SMILE over at BITW
Alana loves Spongebob and there was a model of him at Excalibar Hotel in Vegas, so having a picture with him was a must.

I randomly placed a doilly over white cardstock and inked over it with yellow. Then l decided to use a border punch to trim it and placed it over a red card that l had trimmed using the same punch.
Using Spellbinders l cut several circles and added some embellishments from Echo Park and Bo Bunny that l popped up on the page. The letters are also Bo Bunny and l have outlined them in black.
I added a ribbon frill to the the word card to add dimension. The chipboard is a leftover piece and l painted it, added gesso and then covered it in glitter.
To give the white background another type of frame, l added coloured jute onto the red card.
Finally l popped my photo up and my journalling is on the blue tag under this.

Here are some close ups

Thanks for looking!

Sketches with a Twist

I found a new site with monthly sketch challenges.
May Challenge at Sketches with a Twist has this design to work with and you had to add stitching to your page.

Here is my layout using some pics my mum took when visiting my brother who lives in Dubai. They went 4WD on the sand, and there sure is plenty of sand over there.
I used a Simple Stories paper for my background and added 7 gypsies Lille range over the top and inked these

My embellishments are a mixture of Prima flowers, elements cut from Echo Park,Crate, Simple Stories and 7 gypsie papers.

I stitched the compass and around the paper matting my photos

Lots of White

This is my layout for the May challenge over at White with 1
You had to use white, ceam and chipboard

Here are some closeups

I painted a chipboard flower white and the leaves cream and added a button .
The felt flower is hand cut
I loved using texture paste on another layout so l did it again and mixed it with cream paint and then used a mask to make the small rectangles. I put the white flower ribbon over some lace and added some chipboard letters on top of some foam Thickers. I crackled the letters, once again putting cream on the bottom and white paint on top. I machine stitched around the border of the back ground paper and added a cream and a white Prima flower to finish it all off, as seen in the main picture.

Thanks for looking and please leave a comment, l love to read them :)

Quick Post

Here is the latest sketch over at Once upon a Sketch. The theme is anything to do with being a mum, about your mum etc.

This is such an inspiring site, the talent is amazing

This is my take using Bo Bunny Country Garden Collection
I love this photo of the three of us. It was taken at the top of the Empire State building.
( l cropped the photo into a square)
Here are some close ups
I mixed some paint with texture paste and smeared it over a Crafters Workshop stencil to achieve the small blocks. Once it was dry l randomly added some ink to some of the blocks

The bird sticker and bling flower are from Kaiser, flowers are Prima
I used Liquid Pearls around the edges of the patterened papers for some extra dimension and inked all the papers.

Thanks for looking, leave a comment to brighten my day if you like .
Wishing you all a great weekend, may it be filled with fun and laughter :)

Lots of layers this month. l chose to rotate the sketch clockwise and here is my finished  page

I used a Prima paper for the background and the pink floral. I cut up some Prima flower packaging for the clock, script and floral pieces tucked under the ends of my picture. To the chipboard pieces l added ink and paint. The lettering is also from Prima - flocked and canvas.
Here are some close ups

This photo was taken at Tom's 18th with family and friends.
Where was l??
Probably in the kitchen getting food ready!!
Gosh l'm hardly ever in a photo, and now l've missed another opportunity, oh well.
