Scrapbook Divas Challenge #5

Playing along today with challenge #5 at Scrapbook Divas
It is a sketch challenge and this is the sketch to follow

Michelle Thomas's photo.

Here is my layout
I added another photo and since l had a brochure l wanted to include l made a small pocket to hold it and placed it under my smaller picture. Here are some close ups

My papers are Maja Design, their papers are gorgeous and some of my current favourites.

I replaced the flowers on the sketch with torn corrugated paper and added gesso then paste with a stencil. Once it was dry l added ink.
My little hexagons are a new die cut stencil called Honeypot by Couture Creations.

This is the mini pocket.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

More Holiday Snaps

Today l am sharing a layout l made just for fun!
No sketches to follow, no challenges to play along with, just some free time to scrap a pic from my last holiday.

I created the background with two different stencils, paste, ink, stamps and micro beads. Here are some close ups

I added gesso to the edges of my flowers

Enjoy your day wherever you may be, we have some rain which my plants are loving!

Team B Week 2 April

I am up again this week at Lets Get Sketchy with their weekly sketch challenge, check it out HERE!
This is what l came up with -
My brother and sister in law spent 5 years living in Dubai. What a different place to the one l live in!
Couple of close ups -

I kept the embellishments simple, added some masking, stamping and texture to the background.
Here is the sketch to follow, l hope you can join us this week

Playing along at Scrap Divas & Picture This!

While l am not working l have time to play along with some challenge sites and l noticed Scrap Divas are having a birthday celebration, you can check it out HERE or find them on Facebook.
I also came across Picture This! Challenge Blog, check them out HERE

So l combined SD's 2nd challenge and the current one at PT.
Scrap Divas was to use all these lovely colours which just happen to be some of my favourites - pink, orange, lime green, light blue, red.
Picture This was to use 1 photo, corners and splatter

Here is what l came up with

For my background I started by using a piece of chipboard as a mask, then added modelling paste using two different stencils from Prima and TCW

Next l sprayed ink, then added watercolour paint in random places

My chipboard corner piece was covered in gesso and then l added watered down orange paint

I have strips of different papers under my photo and once the flower cluster was done l added some little Prima birds that l had inked and finished off with glossy accents

Finally l added some random stamping and some paint splatters in black

Thanks for stopping by and looking :)

Happy Easter

The Easter long weekend has come to an end. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves.
We had a great family get together on Good Friday and then relaxed for the rest of the weekend.
Today l am sharing a layout with a photo l took of coffee beans growing in a plantation on Kauai. From these humble beans comes wonderful tastes and aromas and it was a first for me to see them growing.
This was also a great layout to use up some of my stash!

I decided to have a good play with this one and used lots of stencils, inks, water colour pencils, rub ons, gesso and paste.
Here are some close ups

The strip of sparkle is a mix of glitter and cracked glass glitter. I added gesso to the chipboard and then sprayed ink in yellow and brown while it was still wet.

The chipboard tiles have been inked and once dry stamped, and then l added a gloss to coat them.

Different rub ons were randomly placed over the background and then a few bling dots.
Thanks for looking and enjoy your day!
